Long before we discovered the science of Allopathic medicine, our forefathers relied on natural therapies and remedies from minor to major illnesses. The belief that the human body is designed to cure itself when it is diseased was seen as a natural process of life. Most of the natural remedies of our ancestors have been lost or were never passed down to future generations. One of the ancient systems of medicine that is known to have survived is Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is a natural system of medicine that is known to have existed in India almost 3000 years ago. It is commonly practiced today all over the world as an alternate form of medicine. It believes in the balance of the mind, body, and spirit. Lifestyle habits are often encouraged along with their practice. This art of medicine involves increasing one’s immunity and reducing symptoms rather than seeking a fast cure. Activities like meditation and yoga along with a diet are recommended in this practice.

Homeopathy and Naturopathy are the other two natural forms of practice. They are often confused with each other but are different as well as similar in its practice when it comes to going natural. Homeopathy is the use of natural elements as a treatment for the body. Natural ingredients like herbs, medicinal plants, and minerals are used to treat allergies, depression, migraines as well as coughs and colds.

Naturopathy, on the other hand, involves the natural methods of treatments like dietary adjustments. A Naturopathic diet includes the consumption of fresh fruits, raw vegetables, herbal teas, and juices. It promotes self-healing and positive health of mind and body.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese form of treatment that involves inserting needles at various points into your body. It may sound like a painful form of therapy but it is often painless and differs from person to person experience. This treatment helps in stress management and overall wellness. Studies have shown that it helps in increasing the health of the person while making others feel energized.

Studies have shown that alternate medicine continues to be practiced and followed over the planet. It is a system that has gained interest in recent years due to its non-harmful and almost non-existent side-effects of practice. However, its usage and effectiveness remain a long-standing debate to its counterpart rival Allopathy.
